Tooth chain, also known as silent chain, belongs to a form of transmission chain. Tooth chain is an important mechanical basic component widely used. It is mainly used in high speed, heavy load, low noise and large center distance. Its transmission performance is better than that of tooth belt drive, gear drive and claw chain drive. It has become one of the preferred pair transmission forms in many industries. In meshing form, it can be divided into internal meshing tooth chain. (1) the noise is very small. Tooth chain is meshed by involute tooth profile of working chain plate and sprocket teeth. Therefore, the meshing noise is smaller than that of roller chain and sleeve chain.
(2) High reliability. This is because the chain segment of the tooth chain is a multi-chip structure. When individual chains are destroyed in the work, the whole chain is not immediately disconnected, which enables people to find and replace in time. At the same time. Compared with the sleeve chain and roller chain with the same pitch, the gear chain drive is more compact. To increase the load-carrying capacity, the gear chain drive only needs to increase the smaller size in the width direction, while the sleeve chain drive needs to increase the pitch of the chain or adopt multi-row chains.
(3) The motion accuracy is high. This is because in the straight plate roller chain, because of the wear and tear of the hinge, the actual pitch of the inner and outer joints is gradually different, and the pitch of the outer joints becomes larger and larger, which reduces the transmission accuracy. The elongation of each link of the tooth chain is uniform due to wear, so it keeps a high motion accuracy.
